MTB 24h Dviratai Marathon 18-19 August first time in Lithuania

1. Date and place:
August 18-19, 2012. Vilnius district, close to Vilnius. Get to the Elniakampis rest place near Elniakampis lake (turn to the place from the road no. 171 between Dūkštos and Sudervės). Maratohon will take place in Neris regional park. Exact place on the map:

Accommodation only in tents near the race place. Wild camping conditions. Please take care of your own tent, sleeping bags, water, food, cooking, etc.
Organizers can communicate in English and Russian. Please ask for detailed questions.

2. Participants and groups
Only adults from 18 and older can participate. Teams and all participants must be registered before race:
- V1 Solo (man);
- V2 Pair man (born in 1994-1973);
- V40-2 Pair man masters (born 1972 and older);
- Mix-2 Pair man and women;
- V4 Four Open * (total sum of team age till 160 years);
- V40-4 Four Open * (total sum of team age more than 160 years);
- V8 Eight man (no age limit);
- Mix-8 Eight mix (at least 2 women in team).

*Open means that team might consists from only man, women or man and women in any composition. Only total result counts.

3. Registration
Team captain must register all team members together before 16 August, 2012. Foreign guests can pay registration fee at the start place. Captain is responsible for the communication on behalf of the team.

4. Main rules
Start at 12:00 on 18 August. Finish at 12:00 on 19 August.
Race course MTB XC style on the forest roads and tracks, nice environment, suitable for cyclists with different experience. Lap ~12 km/~150 ascent per lap for all. Le Mans running start.
Results and winners will count who will make most laps in shortest time during 24 hours. Last lap result before 12:00 on 19 August.
Rest time, repair and other counts as lap time. Team members can change, rest and regulate their racing regime as they want. One team member riding on the course. Change of team members only in the start-finish zone. Need to stop before other starts, announce team no and name of person.
Support for the team only near start-finish and in the tent camp nearby. No support from outside on the route. Only racers can help each other.

Pair mix women must cycle at least 4 laps during the race. Eight mix each women must cycle at least 2 laps during the race. Four Open no difference.
If one registered team member is missing in Four Open, other 3 participants can race in this group.
If 1-2 registered team members are missing before the race, other 6-7 can race in Eight category.
If bike is broken, something work happen on the curse – racer must finish by walking/running to get lap counted. If shortcut is made, it should be announced to judges and it will add to the next lap time.
Illegal cuts and other violations of the rules will suppose disqualification.

Winners 1-3 places in each category will be awarded. There must be at least 5 participants in the group for competition. If there are 4 participants, only 1-2 places awarded. If 3 participants, only 1 place awarded. If less – group is merged with other relevant group.

Award will take place within 1 hour after finish. Winners must be in the place. Prizes are not given, if winners are missing.

All participants must wear helmets. Obligatory lights during dark period. Everybody is responsible for themselves and all consequences it might cause for them personally or the third parties as a result of participation in this event. Organizers are not responsible in any form for the consequences of the actions of participants and their health conditions, loses of material property as a result of their action in the event.
