fixie pyöräilijä tartus?

Tere!
Sorry I don't speak your language (yet!). I just moved to Tartu from Germany and was wondering if there are any fixed bike riders around in Tartu? I am still in the process of building up my first fixie and think that it would be much more fun to ride/practice with someone together. So if there is anyone out there, drop me a line!! Also, is there a velodrome in Tartu?
Cheers
Lars

Hello Lars!
No there's not a velodrome in Tartu. We have only one in Estonia and it is located in Pirita, Tallinn.
Not so confident that we have fixed bike rides in Tartu. Maybe few. Most Tartu rider are roadies what i have noticed.

I'm interested in fixies but no such bike yet, only geared roadie.

I don't know anyone else then melter either, in Tallinn there's few fixed gear bikes. I was building one too but on a last moment I decided to make it a single-gear not fixed-gear, I just like coasting sometimes and "normal" brakes. Maybe I'm going to try fixed gear too if I get or build a fixed hub for my bike.

Thanks for all the info so far! I too have a road bike, actually two, but since I am more interested in the vintage ones, they are older steel frame ones, not more than 7 speed. I picked up bicycling only a year and a half ago, before that I was just a usual city biker.

i still have a miche track hub (back) laying around that I don't need. I think I could sell it for cheap. You would need a Miche cog though, I didn't get it with the hub. Let me know if you are interested.
Also, there is a german internet shop specialized in fixed gear stuff. They also send to other European countries. And no, I don't know anybody of the people running the shop, I just thought you might be interested in this info

Cycling club
JSK Tamme has it's HQ there but I have no idea if they use the oval as a training facility. In 2008 it was used for points race at veterans/masters tour, organized by another cycling club
SK Velo.

Nope, this bike belongs to one exchange student, I did had a short talk with him some days ago. He made the frame himself. If you want to see the bike then usually you can see it behind Raatuse dorm, he lives there.
I know at least 4 fixie riders here.
